Young Carers action week
BHASVIC marked Young Carers Action Day by holding a Young Carers Action Week from 10th – 14th March to raise awareness and offer support for both students and staff. We provided information and guidance throughout the week in our student services centre.
Members of staff from the Young Carers Project in Brighton visited, as will an ex-BHASVIC student, now studying at university. They were available to discuss any questions students or staff may have about Young Carers, their own experiences, and support available outside college. Members from our Careers, Widening Participation and UCAS teams were also on hand to provide specific information and support for Young Carers. Plus food and freebies to give away!
Hopefully it was a great way to raise awareness and ensure Young Carers are recognised and know where to go for support.
