Rampion Wind farm visit

The A2 Environmental Science students got to experience the mighty turbines of the Offshore Rampion Wind farm on Monday 9th May. The students learn about wind power as part of the course, and also learn about the effects on coastal biodiversity. Sussex Dolphin Project and a representative from Rampion accompanied the students on the trip and gave a talk on the locational planning for wind farms, the power output of the turbines and discussed the effects of the turbines on birds and marine wildlife. We were lucky enough to have calm sea conditions and a warm day, which was perfect weather to experience the wind farm.
