Riya Hamie has won the Royal College of Music Junior Department Concerto competition

BHASVIC's brilliant cellist Riya Hamie has won the Royal College of Music Junior Department Concerto competition and will be playing Dvořák''s B minor cello concerto with the junior college orchestra. This is an amazing work and a challenge for professional adult cellists! The concert also features Stravinsky's Firebird Suite - a great 20thC work based on his ballet and including musical representations of a phoenix, evil monster, prince and 13 princesses!  Riya's class are going to support her along with BHASVIC teacher Jo Hatton.  You can also book your own ticket for £5 plus booking fee https://www.rcm.ac.uk/events/details/?id=2115482
