Music Success
Y13 BTEC Music Student, Molly Walsh, was chosen to perform at Brighton Dome's Corn Exchange as part of the Sounds of the City event.
Molly says: "On the 20th of November I got the opportunity to play on Brighton Dome's Corn Exchange stage. I heard about the event, which was put on by Create Music, through college and signed up for an audition. The audition went well and a few days later I was offered a place to perform. Singing and playing guitar, I performed three original songs, Make Believe, Dirt on Your Name and Need you and one cover - First day of my life by Bright Eyes. The whole experience was incredible, we were encouraged to promote the event on social media with resources given to us and we were guided through soundcheck. All the facilities and staff were great and all of the bands played to such a high standard. I had a great time performing, the audience were so supportive and engaged. It was a great insight into the industry and I hope I can play there again in the future!"
Huge congratulations to BHASVIC alumni Riya Hamie (cello) and Berniya Hamie (piano) of the Asatine Trio who have been selected as Britten Pears Young Artists for 2023/24. They will both be performing at Snape Maltings as part of the Chamber Music in Residence programme.
