International Music competition success for BHASVIC students

In July, the Astatine Trio, formed by current BHASVIC and Royal College of Music Junior Department student Riya Hamie (cello), former BHASVIC and current RCM student Berniya Hamie (piano) and fellow RCM student Julia Błachuta (violin) won 1st prize in the 2022 Virtuoso & Belcanto International Chamber Competition in Lucca, Italy. They were also selected for the legendary pianist Alfred Brendel’s masterclass. The trio is also one of six finalists in the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Competition which will be held in November 2022 at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
