First year Sociology students visit the Museum of Transology at Brighton Museum
Students were shown around by E-J Scott, the curator of the museum. All exhibits from the museum are donations from members of the trans community, and as a result the exhibition has a really personal feel to it. Many of the exhibits show the significant struggles that many have with their gender identity and sexuality, which makes it a moving exhibition indeed.
Students really enjoyed the trip and will be able to use the learning in future Sociology lessons and beyond. The exhibition has been running for over two years due to huge popularity, but is finishing at the end of this month, so it was a privilege to see it again.
Many thanks to E-J and Susan Eskdale, who helped us to organise the trip.
