Equality, Diversity & Inclusion staff training
After the successful enrolment of our largest ever first year cohort we managed to squeeze in an informative, challenging and hopeful staff INSET on the theme of equality, diversity and inclusion before lessons started. We were privileged to welcome in AFLO the Poet to share her thoughts and words around race, education, art and opportunity before sessions from Class Divide, Brighton & Hove Anti Racism team and our own Additional Learning Support team.
Sessions looked at race, class, neurodiversity, equality of opportunity and how to create the fairest, most inclusive, most supportive environment for every member of our community to belong and thrive in. At BHASVIC we are committed to providing an environment that fosters feelings of community and belonging. This training continues on from our College of Sanctuary award achieve last year and Personal Development days for our students on the themes of race and identity. Thank you to everyone involved.
