International Day of the Girl
The Women of the World foundation invited six Sociology students to celebrate International Day of the Girl in London. The day included speed mentoring on the London Eye (where else!) where students were able to chat to inspirational women about their careers, their successes and the barriers that they have overcome. At the National Theatre, students engaged in workshops on confidence building and listened to a talk from Shahroo Izadi, author of The Kindness Method.
Students came away inspired and empowered! Lily, who attended, said 'The WOW day of the girl gave me a lot more confidence in my university course choice as it provided me with a lot of information about potential job opportunities that course can lead me into. The information was more in depth as it was one to one conversations and this format allowed me to ask questions and gain accurate answers.' A brilliant day all round.
