Culture Day
Today we celebrated Culture Day, a student-led celebration of all of the different cultures at BHASVIC. Some of our students ran stalls showcasing their cultures and traditions, the Student Union ran a bake sale of traditional foods to raise money for Hummingbird Project and there was a henna stall ran by 2 students. Over the lunch break, we saw a clothing parade from our students who wore their traditional dress, from countries that included Ukraine, Cameroon, Nigeria, China, Palestine, Iraq, Phillipines, Yemen, Gambia, Sudan and Eritrea. A big thank you to the Student Union and all of the students involved in organizing such an inclusive event!
All proceeds from the baked goods sale are to be donated to the Hummingbird Project charity which is based in Brighton with the aim of supporting refugees.
