DofE awards success
Over the last two years BHASVIC students have had huge success with their DofE awards. 136 have achieved an award, with a phenomenal 21 achieving the highest standard of a GOLD award, receiving their award at Buckingham Palace. The award has allowed students to develop skills from dance and roller-skating through to learning Japanese and horticulture. All students complete two rigorous expeditions where they learn invaluable team skills alongside building their resilience and always making new friends. The volunteering section is perhaps most life changing for both our students and the groups with whom they interact. We have had students working with disabled children at Chailey Heritage, helping run food banks or brownie troops, baking for the homeless, cleaning our beaches and rescuing lost pets. We are so proud of these students and look forward to many more successes to come.
