Become a Sustainability Student Rep and be part of something big!
BHASVIC is a leading college on a sustainability journey to become Net Zero by 2030 and to support our students to consider sustainability in an inquisitive and positive way.
To support that, our aim is that each department will have 1+ student sustainability reps who will work with teachers to develop Education for Sustainable Development links across curriculum and extra-curricular activities. These students will connect with reps from other subjects in a college-wide society that will work with the Student Union and college leaders to drive change across the campus.
In the past student-driven projects have included running clothes and book swaps, encouraging student completion of the Carbon Literacy Award, organising local fieldtrips to see sustainability in action within Brighton, promoting Veganuary events, and inviting sustainability sector speakers to address student groups.
There is scope for this student group to connect with Brighton student groups and schools in a city-wide alliance.
