Learning Resources
Independent study is a vital part of College life, and we’re proud to offer dedicated facilities and resources to help you work.
BHASVIC Library offers open access study space to students between 8.15 and 6pm. (We are open from 10 – 4pm during the holidays.) We offer a silent space to study, with tables, individual study booths, 100 computers, laptops, WiFi and charging points. There are facilities for printing, photocopying, scanning, using Photoshop, and we sell stationery.
The Library contains around 16,000 up-to-date resources to support all
taught courses, including:
o Textbooks, revision guides, magazines, reference books, fiction, TV programmes and DVDs.
o High quality e-resources including e-books and online databases that you
can access in college and from home.
Dedicated library staff are always happy to help students find the information that they need.
Our Sports Hall and Dance Studio are specialist facilities, designed with student endeavour in mind, and packed with resources to support success in these areas.
The Science Departments have well-equipped laboratories dedicated to their specific science and excellent technical support for individual practical work.
Modern Language students can use the Language Centre’s digital facilities to improve their speaking and listening skills.
The College boasts two large Fine Art studios, A well-resourced and generous Textiles Studio, Two large Graphic studios with room for physical and digital work, two large Photographic Studios and a walk-in darkroom.
Our Elms Building which opened in November 2020 provides enhanced Drama, Music and Film provision along with additional specialist science labs and student social study space. The new theatre has over 170 seat compacity and there is a range of state-of-the-art Music rehearsal rooms alongside the main Music teaching room. Media and film have a fully equipped editing suite, with specialist software and Green Screen filming room.
Excellent facilities with catering provision, student support and student social space can be found in the Copper Building along with a large drop-in group study area.
