The BHASVIC Men's Basketball Program offers a structured weekly schedule featuring two team practices, one skill development session, and one game per week (during the season). For the 2024/25 season, the team will compete in the CBL South-West league, facing teams from counties including Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and Gloucestershire.

The BHASVIC basketball program has a strong track record of developing players who advance to play at the NCAA level in the USA, professionally in Europe, and on national teams.

Notable alumni include:

Ben Mockford – One of the most-capped players for Great Britain Men’s Basketball
Flora Durgerian – Represented Great Britain at junior levels
Tom Ward – Played NCAA D1 and D2 basketball in the USA and professionally in Spain
Bud Johnston – Played professionally in the UK, Iceland, and Germany
Asha Andrews – Earned an NCAA D1 scholarship to the University of Hawaii
Max Richardson – Competing in the Irish Superleague
Lucien Christofis – Playing professionally in Iceland

The program is led by Head Coach Tom Ward, who brings extensive experience as a former NCAA D1 and D2 player in New York and Vermont, a professional player in Spain’s LEB Plata and EBA leagues, and a 10-year semi-professional career with Worthing Thunder in the NBL 1. He is also the Director of BTM Basketball, the UK’s leading basketball tour organization, which provides local camps and a central venue league for U11 players.

Assistant Coach Connor Tierney, originally from Portslade, excelled as a high school player in Connecticut at Sacred Heart and competed for the prestigious New York Rens AAU team—one of the top AAU programs in the USA, known for producing players who move on to Power 5 NCAA schools and even the NBA.

For those selected for the program, practices and games are integrated into students' schedules, with additional access to the sports hall during free periods. Basketball program members can also access a newly built gym, equipped with machines, benches, free weights, and more.
