Maths for Chemistry

A course for second year students who want to improve their confidence in the mathematical aspects of the course.  Students work through practice examples of calculations in parallel to the same content being taught in the Chemistry A level. This course does not lead to a qualification but does improve outcomes in A level.

Science for Society

A discussion-based course with an emphasis on topical issues in Science. Students consider science in the news and recent national and global events upon which science has had an impact. Topics in the last year have included: antibiotic resistance, the journey of a banana from the tree to the plate considering the environmental and economic impact of importing food, the effectiveness of public health campaigns, personal choices about vaccination and much more.
