Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Coaching & Personal Training [2nd Year]; Level 2 Certificate in Technical Occupational Entry in Fitness Coaching [1st Year]

Qualification Outcome: Pass grade only, this is a professional industry qualification. Please note that this course is the equivalent of a Grade D at A level [24 UCAS points]. We can discuss BHASVIC Study Programmes with you at your interview to ensure you are able to access your future career or study path after College

Course Entry Requirements: Experience of fitness training and gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended. • The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Please make sure that you have understood the overall entry requirements to study at BHASVIC. These are available here and outline the GCSE grades you need to take up one of the Study Programmes at the college. Due to the nature of this course there may be some flexibility in Entry Requirements which we can discuss with you at your interview.

Applying for this course: In your application please select the Level 2 Fitness Coaching option as this will be your 1st year of study for this course.

Assessment method: Combination of theory examination, written coursework and practical exams.

What will I study?

This course covers the knowledge and skills required to work in the fitness industry in fitness coaching and personal training roles. You will examine anatomy, physiology and nutrition, and how they relate to exercise and fitness so you can analyse and guide functional movement patterns. You will learn how to design and deliver effective exercise programmes, one to one instruction and small group sessions, as well as lifestyle management strategies and support. The course also explores how to run a fitness or PT business including, finance, sales and marketing. In your 1st year you will achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Technical Occupational Entry in Fitness Coaching and progress to the Level 3 Diploma in your 2nd year
