Sustainability Planning & Design

The Employability Masterclass held at BHASVIC guided students through sustainable design and co-design processes with presentations and advice from Stuart Large of HNW Architects, the award winning practice that designed BHASVIC's Elms Building. Students also benefited from the expertise of Sustainability Consultant - Hove Park Councillor Samer Bageen and Jessica Melville-Brown PhD student at the University of Brighton studying co-design. A hands-on workshop encouraged students to consider what sustainability means for building and planning by exploring the theory, creativity and practicality that underpins sustainable design. Students enjoyed playfully reimagining BHASVIC college spaces with the ultimate aim of achieving Net Zero carbon emission status. This event was part of BHASVIC's work on the DfE Skills Development Fund Trailblazer to develop Green Skills. Thanks to @HNWArchitects @samerbagaeen and Jessica Melville-Brown for an inspiring plus challenging sustainability masterclass.
