"This was my first time performing a concerto and had always been an aspiration of mine. Overall, I won 5 of my classes, including the concerto class, and therefore qualified for the final to be awarded Festival Pianist of the Year. There were 4 qualifiers with a range of ages. In the final, I played Air by Helen Hopekirk followed by Bruyѐres from Debussy’s 2nd book of Preludes. I have competed in this festival for around 12 years and have only ever become runner up once. This year I won Festival Pianist of the Year." Molly Cartmell
